Tickets to the museum include access to the 9/11 Memorial, a large reflecting pool sunken into the ground at the site of the Twin Towers. The edges of the reflecting pools are engraved with the names of those who lost their lives in the attack. You can also explore the garden, which is planted with more than 400 trees, to symbolize hope and renewal after the devastation. The museum is open 5 days a week and houses many exhibits that help to contextualize and commemorate the attacks. It features many artifacts and videos of first-person testimonies from witnesses. The main exhibit is divided into 3 sections, showing the build-up to the attack, how it happened on the day and the aftermath. There are also temporary exhibitions showcasing different aspects of the events, such as the courage shown by the rescue dogs or the hunt for Bin Laden. Both the museum and memorial are accessible for people with disabilities. There are several accessible public transport routes to the museum site, in addition to an accessible drop-off point at the intersection of Cortlandt and Greenwich Streets. All exhibits are wheelchair-accessible and each bathroom has a wheelchair-accessible stall. Service animals are welcome and free admission is available for one carer accompanying a person with disabilities. Wheelchairs and walkers can be provided for use onsite and are distributed on a first come, first serve basis, and the museum has many seating areas. The audio displays are compatible with hearing aids and videos also have open captions and an American Sign Language video is available with the audio guide. Free guided tours in American Sign language can be provided if requested at least 3 weeks in advance. For guests with visual impairments, a verbal guided tour is also available if requested at least 3 weeks in advance. The museum also has a quiet space for personal reflection time.read more
