With an important focus on science and scientific education, San Diego Natural History Museum (The Nat) has animal and dinosaur exhibits, a giant shark hanging from the ceiling, rattle snakes and fossils. Interactive exhibits are available and children are allowed.

Wheelchairs are available for free and service dogs are allowed.There is a stair entrance and gardens have paths. Infrared listening device headsets are available at the north entrance Visitor Services Desk. The Assistive Listening System is available for lectures and films in the Charmaine and Maurice Kaplan Theater. Written information about the exhibits is also available.
