You will meet your guide at Plaza Tetuan Square, by the statue of Dr Robert. Your guide will begin by detailing the accident that caused Gaudi’s death and will go on to talk about his inspiration and how he has shaped the city of Barcelona. You will walk for 10 minutes to Casa Calvet, which is a building designed by Gaudi for a textile manufacturer. Here, you will have a 10-minute stop whilst your guide points out interesting features of the building’s facade. The tour will then move onto Passeig de Gracia, one of the busiest and most important streets in the city. It is home to some of the most noted buildings in Barcelona, including the Casa Lleó Morera, designed by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. After a brief stop in front of Casa Lleó Morera, you will make your way to Casa Batlló. Your guide will accompany you inside Casa Batlló and you will have about 90 minutes to explore the building. Built from 1904 to 1906, the building is known for its daring use of color, with ceramic tiles adorning the facade and part of the roof. The windows also have stained glass panes, which can cast colorful patterns onto the street below. Casa Batlló is wheelchair-accessible and there is an elevator to the rooftop, from which you can admire views of the city. There is also an accessible bathroom onsite. From Casa Batlló, your guide will take you to Plaza Catalunya square via Rambla de Catalunya street. Rambla de Catalunya is one of Barcelona’s trendiest streets and known for its shops and restaurants. The tour will finish at Plaza Catalunya, the central square of the city. Throughout the tour, your guide will be available to assist you if necessary and can answer your questions about Gaudi and about Barcelona.
